5 Minute French Toast

5 minute french toast

Craving a hot sweet breakfast that takes just five minutes to make? This 5 minute french toast is perfect for a busy morning. It is also easy to modify based on diet. Do you like french toast that is not too sweet? Reduce the agave syrup. Want it sweeter? Top it with agave syrup or maple syrup. I used whole wheat challah bread which works out really well for the recipe. You can eat it straight out of the mug or place it on a plate and top with fruit.

I got the original recipe here but have modified it based on my own preferences.

Kid Friendly Tips: Kids can help make this recipe by helping you mix the ingredients together and mashing the bread into the liquid mixture. Work on labeling actions such as mix, tear, crack (egg), measure, and microwave. Help your child recall the steps by asking questions and modeling language (e.g. “First we measured the milk and then we cracked the egg”). Let your child put their own spin on this french toast by adding chocolate chips, different spices or yogurt chips.
