The Last Kids on Earth and the Zombie Parade by Max Brallier is the sequel to The Last Kids on Earth. This graphic novel sequel tells the story of Jack and his three best friends who go on an adventure to solve the mystery of the disappearing zombies. For this review of The Last Kids on Earth and the Zombie Parade, I wanted to get the perspective from my young book reviewer, Spy Striker, age 10. Spy loves zombies and reading so this book was a perfect fit for him to review.
Review by Spy Striker
This sequel to The Last Kids on Earth features heroes who kill a bunch of creatures that are terrorizing the land. In this second book of a series, there are several new villainous creatures, including one named wormlungus, who is gigantic and has millions of teeth. But the main villain is Thrull. At first, Thrull is good. But he goes against the heroes by trapping and trying to kill them. Then he turns into Thrull the Tree Beast, and gets 10 times stronger. Luckily, the heroes defeat Thrull. They also trap a zombie butler named Alfred. Alfred then gets thrown by Thrull, wanders off, and doesn’t attack the heroes anymore. I like the book because it was very suspenseful with a lot of weird-looking creatures. The ending was somewhat predicable because I knew the heroes would win, but I didn’t expect Thrull to turn evil and go against the last kids on earth. Overall, the book is very fun to read for older kids who like action, battles and zombies.
